The kirpan is 36 inches long. It has a pretty designed fully stainless steel sheath. Kamani, a type of iron, is used in the making. The stainless steel hilt of the kirpan has an unsharpened blade making it not useful as a weapon. The kirpans are used as a ritual to keep in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Prakash in every Gurudwara Sahib, across the world. Also, it plays an important role in the Indian Wedding Ceremonies.
